October updates
Welcome to a detailed breakdown of what I did in SGA in the month of October.

Topic: MSE construction resolution
10/8 senate meeting
What I did:
Suggested the inclusion of proposed programs that address the decrease in the amount of study space. The draft at the time discussed the decreased amount of study space and their more distant locations but did not include a proposed solution.
Topic: Affirmative Action
10/15, 10/22, 10/29 senate meetings, 10/23, 10/30 academic affairs committee meeting

What I did:
Asked student leaders what changes they would like to see to feel included in all organizations, not just cultural and ethnic student organizations. Pointed to the possibility of further demographic decline of Black and Latino students in the class of 2029 due to new essay prompt. Advocated against the DEI requirement because of the insane credit overload imposed on us under the Foundational Abilities system.

Topic: Foundational Abilities
10/9, 10/16, 10/30 committee meetings
What I did:
Introduced Foundational Abilities Reform initiative in the academic affairs committee. Drafted and revised the FA survey based on discussions with others on the committee and students.
Topic: dining
10/29 senate meeting
What I did:
Asked questions regarding the cleaning process of coffee mugs and dishware and provided feedback on the lack of consistent vegan/vegetarian protein options. Collaborated with senator Sumire Sumi on an email providing additional feedback to Hopkins Dining.
